Mary's strong desire to become grandma finally came to pass. In 1983, Zebe, her first grandchild arrived. Her second grandchild, Emi, was born in January of 1984, followed by Rue in December of 1984. The fourth grandchild, Juli arrived in 1988.
Mary and Bill traveled to Mexico and Canada as well as several trips to her home town of Tacoma for various reunions. It was in Florham Park that Mary became an avid Yankees fan.
